In 2024, BCDI-Colorado continued its transformative journey, impacting over half a million children and families through innovative programs and advocacy efforts. Key initiatives included the Sankofa Book Boxes, culturally relevant literacy tools, expanded mental health programming, and strengthened family services. With $140,000 in contributions, the organization enhanced housing stability, community resilience, and holistic well-being while building capacity through team expansion and infrastructure improvements. As BCDI-Colorado celebrates these achievements and prepares for its 10th anniversary, it remains committed to fostering a Colorado where every child thrives, every family flourishes, and every community prospers.

In 2023, BCDI-Colorado demonstrated its unwavering commitment to uplifting children and families across the state, impacting 500,000 lives through nine transformative programs. These initiatives enhanced early literacy, extended classroom support, strengthened family connections through food, and provided holistic health solutions, housing stability, and financial relief. With $87,000 in contributions, the organization continues to empower Black children and communities, fostering bright futures and holistic well-being statewide.

In 2022, BCDI-Colorado continued to innovate and grow, impacting 270,000 children and families through five key initiatives. The organization focused on culturally enriched learning, collaborative outreach, engaging nutrition and fitness practices, and support for household needs. Highlights included expanding universal preschool access and providing financial relief to low-income families, supported by $273,000 in contributions. With a commitment to fostering holistic well-being, BCDI-Colorado remains dedicated to empowering bright futures for Black children, families, and communities across Colorado.

Annual Report
In 2021, BCDI-Colorado expanded its reach, positively impacting over 600,000 children and families through 16 transformative initiatives. These initiatives included enhancing literacy skills, providing culturally relevant nutrition education, improving food access, and advancing equity in healthcare and childcare. With $300,000 in contributions, BCDI-Colorado strengthened housing and worker protections and distributed 4,800 books to empower communities. Guided by its vision of fostering bright futures, the organization continues to champion policy changes and holistic well-being across Colorado.

Annual Report
In 2020, BCDI-Colorado made significant strides in empowering Black children, families, and communities across the state, impacting over 160,000 individuals. The organization championed holistic well-being through initiatives in early childhood education, literacy, health and wellness, and food security, distributing resources like books and nutritious food to those in need. Eleven policy changes were passed into Colorado law, advancing racial and social equity. These achievements, driven by the dedication of staff, volunteers, and community partners, reflect BCDI-Colorado’s vision of creating a future where all can thrive, flourish, and prosper.
